Baby time is upon us!
It has taken me the entirety the summer and fall to prepare for our little one’s arrival, but now I can finally share my many projects with you!
Building a nursery from scratch and on a budget means getting creative, so I decided to refinish a vintage dresser found on Craigslist and use it as our diaper changing table! This solved several problems right off: adding much needed storage to our limited space and height restrictions for my tall husband (who I did not want to discourage from being able to help with diaper changes due to back aches)!
The dresser was the perfect size and had that old school look I wanted, but the stain was awfully dark and their was some repair work to be done.
I had a vision of something lite in tone but not entirely white, as I was working on a woodsy theme for the room…
I found this blog post from Censational Girl very helpful when deciding how I would refinish this antique piece, so I won’t waste your time explaining it again when she has done such a lovely job already, but I will show you some great progress pics!
So with some sanding, wood filling, re-staining, painting and polyurethane-ing on my side, I was able to create a one of a kind show piece for our little one’s nursery! And bonus, it holds SO MUCH STUFF!
Hope you like it!
Many more tidbits to come!
