Taking Flight

Ok, so I worked all weekend, and maybe didn’t go to sleep last night…but I finished!

I had my presentation today and everything went really well!  Ok, now for show n’ tell!

Here is my Collection, which was to be prominently displayed in the space, of fowl taxidermy.  We as students were allowed to choose our own ‘art’ that our pretend clients would have and since I wasn’t sure how I felt about taxidermy, I chose it anyway to challenge my own sense of aesthetic.  I think it worked out!

Next, my FFF&E board, which stands for Furniture, Finishes, Fixtures  and Equipment…I’m getting used to all the industry lingo 🙂

I went for an eclectic “flea market” vibe.  I wanted to use lots of patterns and texture because the walls were a crisp off-white shade and my floors were a high gloss black.

You’ve already seen my line drawings, but just to refresh…

Here’s what my board looked like, with a few more samples representing my mantel.  I made that wood sample have the crackle, antique patina effect!  A future how-to post, perhaps!?

Here’s my Perspective:

Personally, I want to learn a better technique for my floors, but overall I was really pleased with the way everything turned out, even if I did miss a night of sleep 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Turned out great! Those close-ups really reveal some fine detail. Considering the time constraint you were working with, this is marvelous.

  2. Andrea,
I just took a look at your blog and saw the beautiful watercolor renderings. I am so proud of you. Especially the part about getting used to the “lingo”. That is the mark of the professional!
    Great work! Love, Dad
